N.S. cop’s daughter learns tough life lesson on Dr. Phi

Proof that kids ave to learn the hard way no matter who or what position their parents play ... sometimes even the famous can't really be trusted.
One of Halifax’s most senior police officers said his teenage daughter feels misled after a recent appearance on Dr. Phil McGraw’s talk show.
Deputy Chief Chris McNeil of Halifax Regional Police said that when Mary Elizabeth, 17, and her mother, Pam, went to Hollywood, Mary Elizabeth thought that "she was going down (there) to engage in a debate about underage drinking."
The Jan. 15 episode — called Internet Mistakes — focused on things people have posted about themselves online and regret.

  • According to Deputy Chief McNeil, the show’s producers were looking for members of a Facebook group called 30 Reasons Girls Should Call It a Night, which includes pictures posted by women who’ve been drinking. Before Dr. Phil became involved, CNN did a story about the group, and that prompted Mary Elizabeth to start posting defences. And that caught Dr. Phil’s eye.
