Julien Comeau never thought twice about returning two bags of money that tumbled out of an armoured vehicle. And he most certainly didn't think he'd see any of the money after he quietly slipped away.

But the Nova Scotia man ended up $1,000 richer after Group 4 Securicor officials tracked him down to reward him for his act of honesty.

"I never left my name at the scene or nothing. We were blocking traffic and you're not going to have a chitchat with an armoured vehicle," the Halifax municipal worker told CBC News.

Comeau had just dropped off a colleague in Halifax on Tuesday and was returning to Dartmouth across the A. Murray MacKay Bridge when it happened.

"I had just got through the toll booths, I looked up and the back door of the Securicor van opened up and two bags of money fell out," he said.
